ABOUT US
Founded in 1954, AIA Savannah, the Savannah Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, is a professional service organization serving our community as stewards of Savannah’s distinguished architectural heritage.
EDUCATION
As members of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), continuing education is more than just a requirement—it's a cornerstone of professional growth, staying current with industry standards, and delivering the highest level of service to clients and communities. AIA’s continuing education system ensures that architects remain well-informed about evolving technologies, sustainability practices, building codes, and design innovations. AIA Savannah is committed to supporting local architects in meeting these education goals. Through a robust calendar of opportunities, AIA Savannah provides accessible and engaging ways to earn AIA-approved learning units (LUs): Monthly Chapter Meetings – These gatherings offer informative presentations and opportunities for professional networking, often featuring guest speakers or panel discussions on relevant architectural topics. Lunch & Learn Sessions – Held monthly, these sessions allow members to gain focused insights into products, processes, and innovations from industry experts—all while enjoying a midday break. Special Events & Workshops – Throughout the year, AIA Savannah hosts unique events such as building tours, design symposiums, and community engagement initiatives that combine learning with hands-on experience. By participating in these programs, AIA members not only stay in compliance with licensing requirements but also engage in lifelong learning that strengthens their practice and enriches the profession as a whole. Stay informed, stay connected, and stay inspired—with AIA Savannah.
ALLIED MEMBERS
Allied Members are an essential part of AIA Savannah’s success and the strength of our local design community. While not licensed architects, these industry partners—including engineers, contractors, consultants, product reps, educators, and other professionals—bring invaluable knowledge, resources, and energy to our chapter. Their support helps power everything we do. From sponsoring and participating in events to facilitating continuing education opportunities, our Allied Members are integral to the experiences we offer our members. Whether it's a monthly Lunch & Learn, a design awards celebration, or a community outreach project, Allied Members are there—helping bring ideas to life. More than sponsors, they are collaborators in shaping Savannah’s built environment. Their expertise and engagement help strengthen the connections between all those involved in the creation of our spaces—bridging the gap between design and execution. By investing in AIA Savannah, Allied Members are investing in the future of architecture, the professional growth of our members, and the vibrancy of our community. We are proud to stand with them—and grateful to have them stand with us.
