Re:Purpose Mission:

Historic buildings are lost to demolition every day. There are many reasons why this happens, from development to economic barriers to acts of God. Our mission is to provide conscientious treatments for historic buildings at the end of their life cycle.

The inherent value in a historic structure goes beyond the object itself; there is great value in the history of the structure, in the stories of the lives that passed through its walls, and in the heritage materials from which it was built. These can live on after a building is lost. Re:Purpose Savannah captures and shares that value through research and documentation of the building, shared in our online archive, Re:Purpose Neighborhood, and through careful deconstruction and salvage of the architectural fabric, available for reuse at our marsh-front Lumber Yard.

Learn more about their full mission and who they are by visiting their website: https://www.repurposesavannah.org/ Tours will adhere to safety guidelines; face masks are required to be worn at all times during the tour. We will be providing 1 drink per person at the end of a tour in a designated space allowing for social distancing and 10 people at a time will be allowed to tour the facilities.

Tours will be offered at: 1:30 pm , 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm (Tour times may be added upon interest) Your attendance automatically enters you into a raffle (per tour group) for a chance to win a Re:Purpose Tongue & Groove Coaster Set.

This event may qualify for a learning unit pending approval.

Location: 2302 E. Gwinnett Street in the East Side neighborhood of Savannah, Georgia.
